Christmas at Leah's Sweet Treats
I can't believe Christmas is just around the corner!!!! Is there enough time to get everything done? Will I find the perfect gifts? Why was Thanksgiving so early this year? Oh well...at least Leah's Sweet Treats is ready for Christmas!!! This is the web flyer I designed for her to use on Facebook to advertise all her Christmas Flavors...it turned out so so cute...I love it!

Leah's Sweet Treats Thanksgiving Website Update
I just added a Thanksgiving update to Leah's Sweet Treats website. I absolutely LOVE changing the website just a little bit every time a new holiday rolls around...it really keeps the site fresh. Also, it's a great way to inform everyone about days she'll be closed. Click the photo above to visit her updated site :)

Formal But Tacky Ball Web Flyer
The Highland Village Rotary Club is gearing up to host their 3rd annual Formal But Tacky Ball at the Lantana Country Club in March. They've asked me to design a web flyer they can send out to everyone they know...the event is benefitting children's charities this year so I wanted to keep it fun and use fonts and text in chalk-ish colors. For the past two years, I've designed a new logo for each party...this year I designed the flamingo logo with the hope that they'll use it year after year. Using the same logo should help build some awareness about the party...who can forget flamingos in formal wear?!

Dr. Olivarez is a super cool family physician in Fort Worth...he's a friend of the Mariposas's Latin Kitchen girls, Crystal and Irma. Dr. O is getting ready to open up a string of clinics in the area and asked me to work on a logo for him. He wanted it to be fresh, healthy, and clean looking. He came up with the name and basic color scheme...I put it all together. I'm very happy with the result. Next, we'll work on business cards, a web site, and other marketing materials :)

Halloween at Leah's Sweet Treats
I designed this web flyer for Leah so she can let everyone know what she's got going on at her bakery this Halloween. A lot of information to fit in such a compact design but I think it worked out well :) Today she sent this flyer out in an email to all her clients and posted it on Facebook...can't wait to try some of these "spooky" flavors!

TCU at Leah's Sweet Treats
I've designed some really fun Frog paraphernalia for Leah :) From the "Frog Day Friday" coupon, to her "Frogs Love Cupcakes" t-shirts, to her very own "Frog-fetti" cupcake flavor, I'd say Leah's got TCU covered!

Formal But Tacky Ball
For the past 3 years, the Highland Village Rotary Club has put on the Formal But Tacky Ball. Usually, the ball has been held in October and benefitted Breast Cancer Awareness Charities...but this next year, the ball will be held in March and will benefit Children's Charities. I wanted to design a logo for the party that can be used year after year no matter what charity the club decides to support. Like a wedding invitation gone wrong the flamingos add just the right amount of tackiness to their formal attire :)

Mariposas Latin Kitchen Food Label
Here are the new food labels for Mariposa's Latin Kitchen tortilla chips and salsa. The black and white version of the logo I created is so pretty and, thankfully, less expensive to print :)

Mariposas Latin Kitchen OPEN NOW
Mariposa's Latin Kitchen opened on Friday, September 28th. Crystal and Irma said the turn-out was fantastic! I got to stop in and see the finished restaurant a couple of days ago...looks wonderful! It's so much fun to see all my designs in action :) The signage, window decals, menus, food labels, logo, website, and other print materials all came together to make something really great!

Nuthing New Logo
My sister-in-law Marqui has a birthday in September. She's super crafty and is always creating amazing stuff. A couple of months ago she made a belt out of t-shirt yarn and used a Civil War era horse bridle clasp as a buckle...really...it's amazing...since then we've all decided that she should go into business and sell all the great things she makes. We aren't exactly sure if this is something she wants to do or not but what the hey...who doesn't need a little nudge now and then...soooooo....my brother/her husband Michael came up with a business name for her...Nuthing New and he asked me to design the logo for it...I had so much fun with it. He took the logo and used it to design mini business cards as well as a one page site so she can show-off her work...check out the belt I was talking about at nuthingnew.com Love it!

Food Photography for Mariposa's Latin Kitchen
My husband Tim took some incredible food photos for Mariposa's Latin Kitchen last week. The owners, Crystal and Irma, were thrilled with them! They posted them on Facebook and somehow got in touch with a food writer for the Fort Worth Star Telegram who liked their business concept (done by Crystal and Irma), their brand identity (done by me), and their photos (done by Tim) so much that he's going to do a feature on the restaurant...incredible! I'm so excited for them and their success!
P.S. You can see more of Tim's amazing photography at his website www.photographiceye.net
